To support bringing Pride back to Bristol. Providing an in-house design service for a crack team of passionate and brilliant folk.
Our process:
Initially asked to assist, then later lead on the creative work for Pride Bristol 2010-2013. The original brand was designed by David at Big Fan. We led on implementation, brand development, marketing campaign design, programme design, live event site signage, mapping, trans-community engagement and all-round getting stuck in.
Exhibition and engagement sessions:
In 2010 we also led a series of engagement sessions aimed at ensuring the event was as inclusive as possible for trans* folk across the city. Six sessions, with more than 30 participants—feeding into the format of the main day event, as well as an exhibition and talk.
The exhibition featured moving image and short films from an international selection of trans artists and storytellers. The speaker talk featured a line-up of British trans icons, including Dr Natasha Kennedy and writer Roz Kaveney.
The impact:
A full week of events, including sell-out comedy, film screenings from the BFI on tour, drag shows, cabaret, afterparties, dog shows and dancing. Each year the week culminated in a big one-day event, with audiences around 30-40,000 turning out to see acts such as Kelis, Sophie Ellis-Bextor and Ru Paul’s Drag Race icons.

Thank you for creating a space where I belong—where I can dance and be myself.
